For all the folks who’ll be in DC this weekend, yours truly will be at Rootscamp, being held this year at the National Education Association. I’ll facilitate a panel or two, but you can also assuredly find me dancing my butt off at the afterparty at Town Danceboutique tonight. Shoot me a comment or a Twitter DM if you’ll be there, and don’t forget to use the hashtag #roots12 and the hashtag of the Rootscamp Women’s Caucus, #femroots12.
Oh, what is Rootscamp? It’s an unconference for progressive organizers.
I’ll let them speak for themselves:
This year marks the 6th anniversary of Rootscamp “Unconference” where organizers set the agenda, share lessons learned and drive the conversation about best practices in organizing.
RootsCamp is an “open space” unconference driven by the people who attend to share, debrief and celebrate the tremendous work organizers did in 2011, regardless if we won or lost. It’s also the place to start preparing for the work ahead of us in 2012.
Hope to see you there!
