Breaking news: Chris Brown domestic violence jokes are not funny.

These reactions are upsetting on a lot of levels, but let’s just get a few things in order, here.

Some of these folks are presumably just trying to be funny. Attention, those folks: domestic violence jokes are not funny.
There’s a larger conversation here about how we judge celebrities and people when knowing about their sins, related and unrelated to their particular art/craft/medium (see also Paterno, Joe, among many others). I won’t get into it here, but at the end of the day, that has to be a very subjective calculus, and so I’ll say this much—domestic violence enrages me, so yes, I’m going to say Chris Brown has to come a long way before we can talk about forgiveness.
